Ott Tanak's Crash Shows Rally is Still Very Dangerous

I think rally is the most pure form of racing that exists for a driver.  It is devoid of most spectacle and is the ultimate test of skill.

It is also, perhaps, the most dangerous form of racing.

Ott Tanak had an incident in Mexico over the weekend that caused him to lose control of his car and careen over a ledge into a lake.  Luckily, rally drivers are well trained at not only driving, but escaping their cars in case of fire or water hazard.

The crash is very scary to watch and Ott and his co-driver are lucky the car landed upright and they were able to escape without harm.

The coolest part of the story is that the team recovered the car and rebuilt it overnight so he could continue in the rally.  Unbelievable.
